The Maryland Coalition for Life -

Aging Abortionist 4 for 4

On Sunday, March 20, six emergency responders in two emergency vehicles rushed a woman to Shady Grove Hospital from LeRoy Carhart’s Germantown, Maryland office, marking the fourth woman in four consecutive months to be transported by ambulance due to medical emergencies related to a late term abortion.  According to eye witnesses, at 6:04 pm an ambulance transported an underage girl to Shady Grove Adventist Hospital after starting an abortion procedure earlier that afternoon.

Executive Director of Maryland Coalition for Life, Andrew Glenn states:  “With this many medical emergencies happening so close together, the Board needs to immediately suspend LeRoy Carhart’s license while these unfortunate incidents are fully investigated.  There have been 7 documented injuries and 1 death here in Germantown and 5 other serious cases from his Nebraska office.  This man is a danger to women, and it is the responsibility of the State authorities to thoroughly examine the competency of this out of state doctor who is nearly 75 years old.”

Germantown Pregnancy Choices will be filing a formal complaint to the Maryland Board of Physicians today to report the medical emergencies that occurred during the last four months.

On December 15 and January 19 ambulances were documented transporting women from Carhart’s office in Germantown. The February 4 ambulance emergency occurred after he stayed late to speak to a group of pro-choice medical students at Johns Hopkins University.

During the question and answer session (min 50:55), a student commented that LeRoy Carhart’s health status had come into question recently in regard to exhaustion and questioned whether there are any regulations affecting the number of hours he could work.  He admitted that he looks “too old,” but denied ever being, “impaired,” despite working long days, 7 days per week, and flying back and forth across the country.

The seven women taken to local hospitals from Germantown Reproductive Health Services at 13233 Executive Park Terrace in Germantown have occurred since July of 2013.  In February of 2013, Jennifer Morbelli died less than 24 hours after Carhart completed the abortion of her 33 week old baby from that same office.  Carhart has been flying to Maryland since December of 2010 to conduct late term abortions after his home state of Nebraska approved the Abortion Pain Prevention Act earlier that year prohibiting an abortion at or past 20 weeks.

Germantown Pregnancy Choices is an office providing resources and referrals for women in crisis pregnancies.  It is located directly across the parking lot from Carhart’s office at 13230 Executive Park Terrace in Germantown, 301-916-5433.

Court of Appeals Decision (Glenn vs. DHMH)

The Court of Appeals decision has been reached in “Andrew Glenn vs. Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.”  And unfortunately, it was a 7-0 decision AGAINST my request for public information.  As a result of this decision, the surgical abortion facilities in Maryland can hide in anonymity behind the government.  This is a very dissapointing decision and will allow the abortion industry to continue to operate with no public oversight.  I also believe this decision will contribute to more and more women being hurt or killed from inept abortionists who come to Maryland to perform risky abortions.

Despite this loss, we know that God is in control and His will is being done in Maryland.  We must continue to raise awareness about the horrible abortionists and evil events taking place in Maryland.  Thank you for your prayers and support throughout this case.

Maryland Court of Appeals (Glenn v. DHMH) video

Thank you for your overwhelming support and prayers regarding ‘Glenn v. DHMH.’  The court case went very well.  The ACLJ lawyer, Erik Zimmerman, did a fantastic job.  He very effectively argued why it is important for the court to decide the public information is released.  Here is a link to the archive video of the oral arguments:

Please continue to pray as the 7 judge panel deliberates their decision.  The decision is not expected for several months.

Maryland Court of Appeals (Glenn v. DHMH)

The Maryland Court of Appeals, the highest court in Maryland, will be hearing “Andrew Glenn v. Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene” on January 11, 2016.  Please pray for the American Center for Law and Justice (ACLJ) lawyers who will be arguing the case.

Over three years ago, through a simple Public Information Request, Andrew Glenn asked for copies of the application for surgical abortion facilities in Maryland.  However, the copies of the applications received from the Maryland DHMH were redacted of certain information.  Largely in part because one of the Planned Parenthood locations told the DHMH not to release the information.  DHMH did exactly what Planned Parenthood asked them to do, and are keeping the public information out of the public eye. In Maryland, it appears Planned Parenthood has power over the DHMH.

In order to keep the information secret, the Maryland DHMH “sued” Andrew to keep the public information hidden from the public.  The court case has already been tried twice in Maryland, and Andrew lost both times.  Please pray the Maryland Court of Appeals will decide differently than the previous two hearings.  Pray the information will be revealed and the Maryland abortionists will no longer be able to hide behind the government.

5 years

This December marks 5 years since the arrival of Leroy Carhart in Germantown, MD.  On Sunday, December 6 at 5pm the Archdiocese of Washington will be having Mass at Mother Seton Parish (19951 Father Hurley Blvd) followed by a candlelight procession at 6:15pm.  The Mass will be celebrated by Bishop Mario Dorsonville.

In 2010, Leroy Carhart said we would be a “flash in the pan.”  I am glad to say his prediction did NOT come true.  The community and churches in Germantown have come together like never before to stand up against these tragic abortions.  Join us on Sunday to remember the thousands of lives that have been lost to abortion in Germantown, pray for the healing of the mothers affected by these abortions, and pray for the continued record number of saves that have witnessed over the past 5 year in Germantown.  There have been over 280 saves (that we know of).  Praise God!

“To date, there have been more than 220 babies saved outside of late term abortionist LeRoy Carhart’s
office in Germantown due to the work of the sidewalk counselors and the vast team of people
who support them through prayer and other spiritual works.

Clearly, something special is happening in Germantown! To tell this gripping story a 30 minute broadcast quality video production, entitled “SAVED” is being created by Two Crown Productions, LLC.

This documentary is about the late-term abortions occurring in Germantown and can impact the national conversation about late term abortion concerning legislation to protect the unborn, and inspire others to respond to an abortion clinic nearby. YOUR HELP IS NEEDED to make this video a reality so that people can SEE what late term abortions look like, and realize that this is THE human rights issue of our day.”

Partnership with Bethany Christian Services

We have wonderful news! Germantown Pregnancy Choices (GPC) is now partnering with Bethany Christian Services, a global nonprofit organization, to save more lives in Germantown.

Bethany Christian Services’ pregnancy counselor will work with GPC volunteers to speak with abortion vulnerable clients about adoption. She will also use the office to meet with these clients in person to speak about giving another family the gift of life. The organization maintains an active list of prospective adoptive families who are excited to one-day welcome a new child into their home.

Here at GPC, we hope this partnership will directly translate into larger numbers of saved children here on the front lines of abortion in Germantown. Women in crisis pregnancies will now have a greater chance of realizing the life-giving options available to them.

Please check out Bethany Christian Services’ web site for more information on their organization

Thank you for remaining steadfast, and continuing to be a part of this critical effort to save lives in Germantown. Please continue to lift up GPC volunteers and the families we serve in your prayers.
